Under development in the middle of Chelsea’s rapidly changing Flower District in the emerging “Silicon Alley” neighborhood, is a new 45- Story hotel with approximately 175,000 sq. ft. of cast-in-place concrete. It will be one of the tallest buildings in Chelsea, providing middle-market accommodations. Recognizing the area’s position as one of New York’s key destinations and taking full advantage of air rights inherited by this property, the hotel will rise 460’ above grade and hold 522 rooms. Foundation design included 520 Ton drilled caissons to support the induced building loads generated by wind and gravity forces. Its façade will be a mix of metal panel and stucco, with other materials subtly incorporated every two floors as accent elements. The building will be a highly visible building compared to other structures on the block. There will be about 2,300 square feet of restaurant and lounge space, as well as office and fitness centers.
