Palmer Square Shopping Center & Parking Garage

For many years this New Rochelle property served as a factory and headquarters for an international manufacturing company. Optimally located for retailing (in very close proximity to I-95), the site presented several challenges in its conversion to a multi-tenant shopping center. The existing two-story building had to be altered and expanded, and a new four-level parking garage built on the irregular, steeply-sloped site. A clock tower with elevators and a stair was added to connect the retail stores, atrium and garage while creating an identifiable focal point.

Few alternatives were reviewed before choosing structural steel framing with metal decking and concrete floors. Steel shop drawings and a 3D model for the structure were done in-house resulting in reduced fabrication time.

Wexler Associates services for Palmer Square included the following:

  • Structural Design of the new and existing buildings.
  • 3D Modeling, 3D Detailing and preparation of Shop Drawings for Steel Fabrication
